Happy Anniversary Bishop Guy Sansaricq
Birth Date: 2010-08-22

On August 22, 2010, the Memorial of the Queenship of the Blessed Virgin Mary, Bishop Guy Sansaricq will celebrate the fourth anniversary of his episcopal ordination. This anniversary is great blessing for the whole people of God in the Diocese of Brooklyn, and especially for the great Haitian Catholic community in both Haiti and in the diaspora, from which Bishop Sansaricq arose.

This shepherd is a great builder of faith one of the pioneers of the Haitian apostolate in the diaspora and the first director of radio Solidarite , the first Haitian Catholic radio on Internet. This radio will be a source of pride and unity for the vibrant Haitian Community in Diaspora and its friends . He is a very humble and prayerful man who has a deep love for his motherland, Haiti. In his view, Haiti is a source of strong pride for its sons and daughters. One of his fondest dreams is to see our community continue to serve the Lord in unity, love and solidarity. He does not have room in his heart for rancor and hatred, and he is always ready to forgive. He prefers to say nothing, rather than to say something negative about anyone. So he is a shining light for our community and our church.

This tremendous churchman is great mystic of our time, He takes at least two hours a day to surrender before his God and always asks his mother by excellence The blessed virgin Mary to protect his brothers and sisters of the Black community. The Staff of the National Center and the weekly bulletin is very grateful to Bishop Sansariq for his wisdom , his great love and his openness for the lay people of the Black community. We take great joy in knowing and working with him for so many years.

This anniversary is another opportunity both for thanksgiving and reflection by our community. In this jubilee year and the fourth anniversary of Episcopal ordination for Bishop Sansaricq, we must continue to ask God’s protection for our bishop, to express to him our gratitude for his accomplishments in the Haitian community, and to ask God to shower wisdom and love on our spiritual leaders.

For now, some leaders and friends of our community want to offer Bishop Sansaricq their best wishes.

Sister Joanna Okereke, HHCJ, ethnic ministries coordinator with the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops: “With deep joy, I offer you my warm congratulations and good wishes on the anniversary of your episcopal ordination. I pray that the blessings of Christ may specially be with you on this day. I thank you for your prayers, your pastoral care, and your constant support of our ministries. May our Blessed Virgin Mary always intercede for you. Best wishes on your anniversary!”
